Beehive is situated in a large building in the grounds of Cuxton Infant School, in the village of Cuxton.
We have three large playrooms with a wide variety of resources and equipment available for all children. Having three rooms means that we are able to keep our children in small groups according to age, giving them the benefit of a high ratio of adult input and care and plenty of space for them to develop and explore. We have an interactive touch screen white board, as used in school, for children to help further their development. As well as interactive white boards we have computers and suitable game consoles available for children of different ages to use. Honey room, for our children in the year prior to starting school, is situated in the main Cuxton School building - so is a great stepping stone for transition to school.
We have a new fully fitted kitchen enabling us to prepare fresh snacks and drinks throughout the day. Also we are able to run cooking activities for all the children. We have child sized toilets and hand basins (including disabled toilet facilities) and ramp access to the building.
CCTV is in operation.
Due to our connection with Cuxton Infants School, we have unrestricted use of the schools large secure outside playing areas, including tarmac playing grounds and large grassed playing fields, plus our own enclosed play area at the front of the school building.
As we are fortunate to have the use of these playing areas throughout the day, we are able to provide a full range of sports and playing equipment from bikes for ages 2-11, football equipment and lots more. Also we have been able to run large special events such as go-karting, picnics, etc.
We also have our own
exclusive fenced outside play area which is a mixture of both safety tarmac and a large grassed area, allowing us to
have a mud kitchen, planting and growing, outside equipment
